Loving Baptist Church Wellness Protocols, Procedures, & Safety Precautions
The purpose of Wellness Protocols, Procedures, & Safety Precautions is to create a standard by which the families in our communities intend to operate each community day. This is aimed to address the potential impact of Coronavirus COVID-19 & all other communicable diseases to our LBC community.
Because we know & trust in the Lord’s sovereignty & daily protection over His people, we pray that you might find rest & peace in the promises of our God despite the chaos & confusion that might exist regarding all of the unknowns that surround the topic of Coronavirus. We, as Christians, can be at peace in the most difficult, confusing, & even terrible circumstances because God is in control of His creation-from the universe to every microorganism that is within it! That said, we plan to take wise precautions moving forward in an effort to remediate any potential risks of sharing or spreading communicable (contagious) diseases, including Coronavirus COVID-19, to our community. Our efforts will focus mostly on proper & consistent hygiene practices (including hand washing, encouraging students to keep hands away from mouths & faces, etc.), social distancing, & recommended cleaning procedures. We will adhere to the state & local government authorities’ recommendations as well.
What a beautiful opportunity we have to teach our children (again) about cleanliness & wellness, remind ourselves about the importance of maintaining & enforcing the standard, & having the chance to serve one another in love as we protect our brothers & sisters in practical ways!
How does this affect our daily routines at LBC?
We will be reminding students of all ages about proper hand washing techniques, and frequency/need to wash hands. It will be encouraged that students maintain proper social distancing, keep hands to themselves, & refrain from touching their faces, mouths, & noses.
EVERY STUDENT MUST HAVE A PARENT SIGN THEM IN AND SIGN THEM OUT & HAVE THEIR TEMPERATURE TAKEN. IF YOUR CHILD HAS ANY NASAL DISCHARGE THAT IS NOT CLEAR PLEASE BEWARE YOU WILL BE ASK TO TAKE THEM HOME!
6th-12 grade students will be eating dinner upstairs in the activities building.
All other students will eat dinner in the fellowship hall or downstairs in the activities building with their parents, & will follow recommended social distancing.
Adults will eat in the fellowship hall or downstairs in the activities building & will follow recommended social distancing.
The guidelines for best practices have been fluid throughout the pandemic. Because of this, we hold loosely to our guidelines, & rather submit to prayerful wisdom, advice from those in authority over us. Know that we love this church, & are trying our best to maintain an appropriate standard to care for our community. Below, you will find three plans, which are contingent upon weekly circumstances, state & local government standards.
Plan A: Plan A is that we will meet in-person weekly at Loving Baptist Church. Every person that attends on Wednesday evening MUST sign in. If you are a parent dropping your child/children off, you must sign them in and sign them out & have yours and their temperature checked and wait with them in the sanctuary until it is time for classes to start. We will be following best practice for guidelines and wellness. (see Loving Baptist Church Requirements below)
Plan B: Plan B will be instituted if there is a positive case of Coronavirus COVID-19 within the church. If, for example, a student, teacher or adult attendee tests positive for COVID-19, we will meet remotely for at least the following week. This will be assessed weekly. The infected student, teacher or adult attendee will remain off campus until fully recovered.
Plan C: Plan C is the last option. If the state or local government institutes a shut down, we will meet remotely.
If changes in these standards, protocols, & procedures updated at lovingbaptistchurch.org and notified by email. Please ensure that you are checking them regularly for the most up to date information.
If parents should feel the need to keep their student home for any reason, please do so. Please refer to the following guidelines when making a decision about attending Loving Baptist Church Wednesday night activities:
If you or ANY of your children are exhibiting any symptoms of illness, please be advised that you should stay home. If anyone in your household tests positive for COVID-19, please notify Carla Nall~940-550-4729, Melissa Walker~940-456-2438, Chad Hopkins~940-550-8957, Aaron Walker~325-669-0452 or Reagan Kelley~940-521-2523 immediately. If your family has been exposed to COVID-19, or has a member with a positive test please follow the recommended health guidelines (2 week quarantine for direct exposure) in order to protect others in our community. If you or your own children become sick with cold, flu-like, or COVID-19-like symptoms, please stay home. (This is tricky because allergies can mimic some cold/flu-like symptoms, so please err on the side of caution.) If anyone in your family is running a fever greater than 100.0 F by mouth (TEMPERATURE IS ASSESSED WITHOUT MEDICATION SUCH AS TYLENOL, ADVIL, OR MOTRIN ON BOARD!!), please stay home. A person is NOT considered fever free until they have been without a fever for 30 hours AFTER THEIR LAST DOSE OF MOTRIN OR TYLENOL. A child with a persistent or frequent cough (productive or not) ((meaning they are coughing stuff up or just have a dry, but continuous cough)) should please stay home. A child with a runny nose (yellow, green, brown, red) or nasal congestion with frequent blowing of nose should please stay home. If your child has been vomiting (even once) or had diarrhea within the last 24 hours, please stay home. A child with sore throat, loss of taste or smell, headache, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, eye discharge or conjunctivitis, newly developed rash on skin, or discoloration of lips, fingers, or toes should stay home. If your child is experiencing general malaise or feelings of fatigue, discomfort, weakness or muscle aches, OR if your child is “just not acting like himself or herself,” err on the side of caution & stay home. Loving Baptist Church Requirements:
If a student feels ill at any point during the evening, a parent will be asked to take him or her home or will be called to come pick him or her up as soon as possible. Everyone will be encouraged to social distance and those that want to wear mask are encouraged to provide their own. Shared community items will be cleaned both prior to & after use. It is encouraged that everyone maintain proper hand health throughout the evening, which includes proper hand washing or use of hand sanitizer when appropriate. Students are not permitted to share food or drinks. Students and adults will also be required to pick up after themselves, & clean as needed. Students & adults will eat in a designated area, either in class, downstairs in the activities building or fellowship hall according to your teacher. This is subject to change as local & state orders apply. Students & adults are expected to wash hands regularly, & are expected to use hand sanitizer upon entering the classroom, including after all breaks. Sanitizer will be available; however, families are encouraged to bring their own.
Thank you for your partnership in maintaining a safe & healthy environment for our community. Please know that these standards are put in place in order to love & care for one another well. This is not in any way meant to make any family or person feel uncomfortable or excluded, but rather, it is an opportunity to show each other a deep sense of care & love by protecting one another in a very practical way. Despite all the unknowns that still exist regarding Coronavirus, in particular, we pray that this would serve only as a comfort to each of you. Know that we want to maintain the best, safest, & most productive learning environment possible for all of us & our children.
As always, please contact Chad Hopkins, Aaron Walker or Reagan Kelley with any questions or concerns!
